Daisy Grant – Founder & Executive Director
As the heart and soul of Daisy Grant Cares, Daisy founded the organization in 2017 with a vision to support the underserved. Her unwavering dedication to her community has been the driving force behind the growth and impact of the organization.
Sharee West – Board Member
Sharee brings a wealth of experience and insight to the board, helping ensure that Daisy Grant Cares continues to serve its mission with integrity and effectiveness. Her commitment to community empowerment and social justice has been invaluable to the organization’s success.
Yajedah West – Board Member
Yajedah’s dedication to helping others and her expertise in organizational strategy has been essential in guiding Daisy Grant Cares. She works closely with the team to oversee programs and initiatives, ensuring they are impactful and aligned with the organization’s goals.
Gladys Jordan – Board Member
With her passion for philanthropy and community service, Gladys is a key advocate for the mission of Daisy Grant Cares. She brings a wealth of experience in community outreach and plays a vital role in fostering partnerships and expanding the organization's reach.

Together, Daisy and the board members work tirelessly to ensure that Daisy Grant Cares continues to serve those who need it most, both locally and globally. Each member’s unique perspective and dedication strengthens our mission of empowering those facing adversity and creating lasting change.

Our Story

Daisy Grant Cares (DGC) was founded in 2017 with a simple yet powerful mission: to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those facing hardship. What began as a personal effort by Daisy Grant to provide basic toiletries and hygiene essentials to the homeless in Newark, NJ, quickly expanded as she realized that the needs of the community were much greater. Alongside toiletries, there was an urgent need for food, clothing, and other basic necessities.

From these humble beginnings, DGC’s outreach blossomed into a consistent and impactful effort that has served thousands of individuals. Since 2017, Daisy Grant Cares has provided over 20,000 meals and toiletry care packages, serving the homeless on a monthly basis. Each meal and care package is a reminder that no one is forgotten, and that small acts of kindness can create ripples of change.

Throughout the years, Daisy Grant Cares has hosted a number of signature community events, including:

Back-to-School Giveaways, ensuring that children in need have the supplies to succeed in their education.
The Fall Feast Giveaway (7 annual events), providing Thanksgiving meals to families and individuals in the community.
The Bday Anniversary Feeding (8 annual events), held on the founder’s birthday to celebrate another year of service with a large community meal.
Meals of Mercy (3 annual programs), a special Ramadan initiative where 1,500 meals are distributed to those in need during the holy month.

Daisy Grant Cares’ mission extends well beyond Newark, NJ. The organization’s outreach has touched lives in underserved communities throughout the United States, including New Jersey, Texas, and beyond. Internationally, DGC has provided support in Trinidad, Jamaica, and Egypt, proudly helping families across the globe.

The impact of Daisy Grant Cares has not gone unnoticed. The organization was featured on NBC’s Positively Black segment, which highlighted DGC's work in Newark and the profound difference it has made in the community.
